Miami Night Life

From continental, world-class elegance to the pounding dance rhythms of the Caribbean and South America, Miami provides the complete spectrum of evening and late night amusement to satisfy any taste.

821 By Night
If you want to dance ‘till you drop, mingle with a well-dressed, energetic young crowd and snack on some of the classier fare on the planet, then find a place to park, leave your car for the evening and wander through the street party that is South Beach. For a good sampling of this completely walkable but heavily attended area, be sure to check out the Lincoln Road walking mall. 821 By Night, a newer club gaining in popularity, where you can dance to live music or DJs, is a good place to begin your South Beach adventure.

Martini Bar
If you are seeking the casual atmosphere of South Beach, but without all of the pounding salsa and flesh-pressing, you will appreciate a quieter and every bit as hip evening in Miami’s oldest section, Coconut Grove. The Grove is where the artists and sandal set make their home, and the night life here reflects this calmer, more thoughtful approach to entertainment, though if heart-starting rhythm is what you crave, you can find that in the Grove, too, minus the crowds. One of the more representative Grove clubs is the Martini Bar, where you can enjoy live jazz, blues and swing … and, yes they also make a wonderful martini.

Zarabanda
For a night of elegance and sophistication, where cosmopolitan dining and dancing is the prevailing style, you will find Coral Gables, the city within Miami surrounding the Univeristy of Miami, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the best of new world culture. At the end of your day, enjoy a rooftop view of Coral Gables along with a great wine, an excellent selection of late night snacks, and live bands on weekends, with a Latin flair at Zarabanda.

Club Mystique
With all that Miami has to offer, and with so little time, you still can get out of your airport hotel room for a while and have a great experience, without having to spend most of it driving. In fact, each of the larger airport hotels offers an example of the better livelier dining and dancing alternatives in the city. If you pick the right hotel, you may be able to leave your rented car parked and do the entire evening on foot. One of the more convenient and fun venues is Club Mystique, at the Miami Airport Hilton, where you can learn to dance on Thursday nights, and enjoy live Latin bands on the weekends.
